Geoff is a Twit

"Twitter is a social networking and micro blogging service that allows users to send "updates" (text-based posts, up to 140 characters long) via SMS, instant messaging, email, the Twitter website, or an application such as Twitterrific." (from the Wiki)

So I've been playing around with Twitter for a little while now, and while I'm not sure I'm totally sure I'm really into it I thought I should try it out on the site here for a little while and see if it adds anything interesting to the blog. As you may or may not have noticed two days ago I put a Twitter widget in the sidebar just below my bio, and called it "Stray Thoughts". Is it a good idea or not, mmmm I'm really not sure yet. As my friend Bernard so aptly pointed out to me this morning though, Twitter can work for me, and I don't have to use it the way everyone else does.

Most people who use Twitter seem to be all about blogging every single second of their lives. And I mean everything... While I don't think I want to do that, Bernard suggested that I use it to post essentially what I was hedging towards already; that being fully formed yet stray thoughts, comments, or ideas about pop culture and the like that might not warrant a full blog post but are still entertaining (at least to me). So I think that's what I'll try to do for the next few days.

Right now my only gripe is that it has a 140 character limit. Sure you can click the link to read the rest of any long post, but the point should be that its glancable... Maybe I just need to learn to be more succinct. Also I currently have the last 10 posts listed, I'm not sure if that's too much though. should it be only the last 5 do you think? Also, do you think I should move my Feeds section above the Stray Thoughts? That might be better, especially if there are 10 thoughts listed... Also I think I might start bullet pointing the beginnings of thoughts. just for ease in reading.

What are your thoughts on my thoughts?
