It looks like the final major piece has fallen into place for the Star Trek film, as Canadian actor and all around good guy Bruce Greenwood has been cast as Captain Christopher Pike. In case your running behind, Pike was the captain of the USS Enterprise before Kirk. He has show up twice onscreen in the the original pilot to Star Trek TOS, and again as an old man in the Hugo winning Trek two parter episode, The Menagerie. This is Pike more or less in the prime of his life. And Greenwood who I've really enjoyed since Nowhere Man, and Thirteen Days is a great choice.
