There have been a couple of new Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen rumors flying around the old interweb the past week or so, and you should definitely hear what sort of plot speculation is going on. Its very interesting stuff... First though care of ComingSoon and Flickr, Check out this display seen in the Hasbro HQ in Rhode Island.
The following info could be considered plot SPOILERS so read on at your own peril. That said these are all still rumors and speculation technically.
Still here? OK then :) The Movie Blog, reported from an insiders perspective on some of the scenes filmed at Princeton a week or two ago. Unfortunately no mention of the Beetlejuice sighting, but since I'm no real Stern fan, I don't really care about that. In terms of overheard and pieced together plot info, The Movies Blog speculates that Shia's character Sam, who reportedly starts acting crazy, followed by a bout of genius, one day in class has kept a shard of the thought destroyed Allspark Cube from the first Transformers film. In another scene he calls Megan Fox's character Mikaela, and tells her 'not to touch it' and that 'it isn't safe'... Read the entire report, including more on Rainn Wilson's character, and the red motorcycle Shia rides in on over here.
As for additional wild speculation, Josh Duhamel, who returns to the film as Captain Lennox, recently in an interview hinted strongly that the question of 'who' (character-wise) is involved the film is the most important element. This has lead to speculation that earlier rumors may be correct of the plot revolving around the titles 'Revenge of the Fallen' referring to 13th original Transformer, who is returning to pay back his enemies descendants. An act which ultimately will force the Autobots and Decepticons to band together to fight their common enemy.
What to make of these rumors... I'm not sure. they could be on the money or they could be more of Bay's planned false information. I think its fun to play along no matter what though :) Remember to keep an eye on Bay's blog Shoot for the Edit for more on the TF sequel, and of course my favorite source, the Transformers Live Action Movie Blog, for all the latest and greatest.
Oh and as a final note, if you're feeling saucy check out this unconfirmed picture of a teaser poster for the movie. Its small and from a cell phone... so you know it must be real ;) See the rest of you next time Cybertron comes calling.
Potential SAG strike not-withstanding Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is coming to theaters June 26th, 2009.
